AI Wellness Pal

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AI Wellness Pal (“the app”, “we”, “us”), published by Viraj Dhanushka, collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use the app on iOS or Android.

The short version

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name and profile photo. You can sign up with email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In. If you use Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email address, in which case we receive an Apple relay address instead.

Wellness content you enter

This includes daily check-ins (energy, mood, recovery), wellness intentions and plans, journal entries and reflections, habits and challenges, hydration logs, meals and nutrition goals, period and weight tracking entries, wellness library progress and bookmarks, journey milestones, and your conversations with the Wellness Pal.

Health data (Apple Health)

If you choose to connect Apple Health, the app reads your sleep data to show your sleep score, sleep stages and recovery insights. The app does not write any data to Apple Health. Daily sleep summaries (total sleep time, stages and score) and the AI insights generated from them are stored in your account so your history is available across devices.

Data obtained from Apple HealthKit is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties except as needed to provide the features described here (see “AI processing” below).

Photos and camera

With your permission, you can take or choose photos for your profile picture, for journey memories, and for meals you want the AI Nutrition Coach to analyse. Meal and memory photos you upload are stored in your account.

Microphone and speech

With your permission, the microphone is used for voice commands and live voice conversations with the Wellness Pal. Speech recognition may be processed by your device’s operating system provider (Apple or Google). During a live voice conversation, audio is streamed to Google’s Gemini service to generate spoken replies. We store the text transcript of a conversation in your account; we do not store the audio recording.

Location you choose

The app does not access your device’s GPS location. If you search for a place (for example, to get weather-based hydration advice or add a journey memory), the place name you enter is sent to a geocoding service to find it.

Purchases

If you subscribe to Premium, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google. We receive your subscription status and purchase history (not your payment card details) through RevenueCat, which we use to manage subscriptions.

Device and notification information

If you allow notifications, we use OneSignal to deliver reminders. OneSignal receives a push token for your device, basic device information, and an internal user identifier so reminders reach the right account. We also use Firebase App Check, which verifies that requests come from a genuine copy of the app on a real device.

2. How we use your information

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

3. AI processing

AI features in the app (Wellness Pal chat and voice, journal insights, daily plans, sleep insights and nutrition analysis) are powered by Google’s Gemini models through Firebase AI Logic and Google Cloud. When you use these features, the content needed for that request, such as your message, a recent conversation, a journal entry, a meal photo or description, or a summary of your check-ins and sleep, is sent to Google to generate a response. Google processes this data on our behalf under its terms for these services.

Before any of your information is sent to Google Gemini, the app shows you what will be shared and asks for your permission. The app’s features are built on AI, so if you don’t agree you can sign out and come back at any time.

AI responses can be inaccurate. They are for general wellness information only and are not medical advice. See our Terms of Use.

4. Service providers we share data with

We share data only with the service providers below, only as needed to run the app, and never for their own advertising.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or others.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and the data stored with it, including your wellness content, conversations, sleep and meal records, and uploaded photos. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the app’s access to your Apple ID.

Some data may remain for a short period in backups or with our service providers before it is removed under their standard retention schedules.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with Google Firebase. Access rules ensure that only your signed-in account can read or write your data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Your rights and choices

8. Age requirement

AI Wellness Pal is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may process your data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards provided by those providers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we will let you know in the app.
